Format

We recommend that each team roster consist of at least 12 players for co-ed leagues and 10 for men's leagues. There can be a maximum of 20 players on a team's roster. For co-ed leagues, the format will be 8-on-8 with each team typically having 5 males and 3 females on the field at a time (at least 2 females are required to be on the field to avoid forfeit). The men's league will also be 8-on-8 but will have no gender specific rules in regards to roster and game play. There is also limited blocking contact allowed for men's. Games will consist of two 20-minute halves with a half-time break of 5 minutes.

Place and Time

Games will take place in Montgomery County, MD. These fields are professionally maintained and are among the best in the area.

Some of our leagues will be played at the Maryland Soccerplex in Germantown/Boyds, MD, with professional grade synthetic turf similar to what NFL and college football games are played on.

There will be 8 regular games and a single elimination playoff tournament for both leagues. RASL has games all throughout the year. Our games are played on weekends as well as weeknights. Please check the leagues page for details.

Divisions

There are two divisions for both co-ed and men's leagues. The Coed-Pro and Men's-Pro leagues are geared for more competitive (high) play. The Coed-Rec and Men's-Semipro leagues are geared for more recreational (casual) play. In some cases, the two leagues may be combined into one for scheduling purposes.

Fees 

Our fees make it very affordable to play in any of our well organized leagues. We take care of the permits, referees, equipment, updating scores/standings, and maintaining this web site. All you have to do is concentrate on playing and having fun.

Unlike some of our competitors, we do not charge a per player fee when you register a team. We allow you to pay a flat fee and include up to 20 teammates. Using their pricing structure of $65/player, this can cost you up to $1,300. That's double what we charge for our weekend leagues.

Due to the expensive costs of installing and maintaining synthetic fields, there is a higher cost to rent them for some of our leagues. However, once you set foot on the field you will see why it's worth the money.

For all our leagues, you can pay half when you register and the other half at the end of the registration period*. This way you'll have time to collect from all your players.

*During the final week of registration, the full amount is due upfront.
